6-28-76 second set always brings a smile, but earlier this year, Charlie Miller surprised many of us by providing the first SBD. And it is wonderful! Thank you Mr. Miller, for this and all the joy that you have spread.

If you don't have the time, or inclination, to listen to the whole show, then start with the ultra-sweet Eyes of the World which opens the second set with a slow and easy groove and a nice solo from phil - all before the first verse. The Eyes melts into a nice transitional jam that evolves into the only complete performance of Happiness Is Drumming from the Diga Rhythm Band album - after living with a murky, but cherished nonetheless, audience cassette of this set for decades, it is so nice to finally hear a SBD of this. The beginning of this Diga workout has an on-stage immediacy that is lost on the audience tapes. From Eyes through Around, this set is one sweet long sequence, topped off with a nice groove with Not Fade Away. You might want to check out the High Time from the first set. Slow, hesitant - almost plodding at first, but with it's sweet interplay between Jerry and Keith it emanates moments of beauty - like the rose gardens surrounding Buckingham Fountain nearby - even Donna's harmonies are tastefully done. Recorded in the warm and stately elegance of Louis Sullivan's Auditorium Theater . . . a top contender for my personal best of '76 (along with 7-17-76).

A most highly recommended soundtrack to those lovely - almost perfect - days of Summer . . . enjoy!

This is the first thing I thought of when I saw your thread title. And yes, thank-you Charlie for the SBD.

Indeed.
However, now I'm on a JB jag. London '78.

Awesome! I LOVE this high time! The best I've heard from the late 70s. A fine moment for donna as well.

Cliff, I am gonna be in the Remsenburg/Westhampton area over the labor day weekend. The friend and I am staying with, is wanting a day away from the kids to go out and catch some fish. Are you far from there? If so, who do you recommend for us to use for good day out on the water. Thanks

Great! I live 15 minutes from westhampton. I can recommend a charter if that's what you'd like, but depending on my schedule you and your friend might be able to fish with me for free if my boss does not have too many guests or even better if I fish with my friends.

Put your email up and I will let you know when I have it.
